Sister Bay Waterfront Museum Mission – Vision – Values
Sister Bay Waterfront Museum is a project established by Sister Bay Historical Society (a 501(c)(3) organization) as Sponsoring Organization.
The initial mission of the project is to re-hab the existing boathouse on the Sister Bay waterfront to create a museum for display of SHADOW (vintage Chris Craft 26-foot runabout), video displays, and other artifacts telling the history of Sister Bay, Wisconsin’s waterfront.
Bylaws of the Sister Bay Historical Society state: “The Mission of Sister Bay Historical Society is to encourage, foster, and participate in the documentation, preservation, dissemination and renovation of historic information, arti facts, and sites in Sister Bay, Wisconsin and the surrounding area (“Sister Bay”)”.
The project has been formally endorsed as a Sponsored Group of Sister Bay Historical Society by the organization’s Board of Directors.
Sister Bay Waterfront Museum – Mission:
The Sister Bay Waterfront Museum is dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and sharing the waterfront history of Sister Bay and the surrounding region. We will engage visitors through innovative exhibits, educational programs, and community events that celebrate the historical significance of the Sister Bay waterfront and its impact on our growth and culture.
Our mission includes showcasing SHADOW – a 26-foot Chris Craft runabout delivered to Sister Bay in 1929. This cherished piece of our waterfront history will be featured prominently, allowing visitors to appreciate the craftsmanship and cultural significance of early 20th-century boating in the growth of Sister Bay.
Vision Statement:
We envision the Sister Bay Waterfront Museum to become a resource that inspires curiosity and connection among multiple audiences. Our vision is to create a space where local history of our waterfront is memorialized. The Museum will encourage individuals to explore our shared stories and the impact of the waterfront on our community’s identity and growth.
